KITSCH HAS AN ADVENTURE CALENDAR!

Hair care company Kitsch has just launched its first Advent Calendar, 12 Days of Kitsch. They are known for their satin pillowcases, colorful hair towels, great styling accessories and heat-free curl sets as well as fun special edition collaborations with the likes of Bridgerton, DC’s Wonder Woman, BT21, Hello Kitty and Mickey & Minnie.

I have a few Kitsch favorites of my own, one received as a PR sample and one I bought for myself. More for those in a moment – before I digress, let’s take a look at the new 12 Days of Kitsch Advent Calendar. ($185 CAD and $99 USD at mykitsch.com)available from today.

12 DAYS OF KITSCH ADVENT CALENDAR 2024

The Kitsch Advent Calendar for the 2024 holidays is the brand’s first, and offers twelve days of fun hair (and skin) surprises.

Kitsch devotees will love this 12-drawer chest in the brand’s signature color palette. Others will reuse the box. Crafty types can save it for a DIY calendar gift next year, maybe.

The Kitsch website doesn’t list all the items on the calendar, but look, you can see 11 of them in this photo. I’ll put each price in the list below so we can do the math. The calendar was originally released at a 30% discount, listed at $185 $261 CAD and $99 $140 USD. (Wow, that Canadian price is OUCH!)

MY KITSCH FAVORITES

If you don’t think you need a 12-day Kitsch holiday calendar, or you think you might have to wrap and sort through gifts for more than one person (who would?) let me tell you about a few things you might want:

KITSCH SATIN PILLOWCASE: I love my Kitsch satin pillowcase ($36 CAD and $19 USD at mykitsch.com) more than the expensive slippery silk pillow I slipped into my closet after my first night with Kitsch.

The fact that I prefer a satin pillow over a silk one may shock some people, but for me it’s the texture. The thread-count satin of the Kitsch 600 feels cooler and smoother on my skin than the mulberry silk of the Slip. I also appreciate the streamlined zip closure. Is satin better for my hair than a regular cotton pillowcase? It is possible. ♀️ At least in line with silk if the fabric is smooth.

Not all satin pillowcases are the same, remember. I tried a couple of other brands and immediately put them off – they felt horrible, they were made in a horrible way, almost like plastic. Kitsch satin pillowcases, however, are really good quality at a decent price. (When the company sent me the pillowcase to try out, they gave me this code to share: KITSCH20 to save 20% on your order. I don’t know if it works for retail prices, but it doesn’t hurt to try!).

KITSCH EXTRA EVERY SPA HEADBAND: The widest Kitsch spa headband ($19 CAD and $10 USD at mykitsch.com) my favorite thing is Kitsch. I bought it for myself. Unless I’m washing my face, concealing sheets or using an AHA peel, I wear it off over a cool period of time — it’s cool genius with a top knot! If it was available in black, I would buy another one just to wear like a top knot hat.

NOTE: The headband is only available in the shade Dusty Rose on the Kitsch website. However – and this is really good news – it is available on another website in Misty Blue, and at a LOWER PRICE: $13.99 CAD at well.ca.

KITSCH ITEMS AT BETTER PRICES

It turns out that Well.ca carries a wide variety of Kitsch products that are priced about 30% lower than what you’ll find through the Canadian website mykitsch.com. I don’t know now how long these prices will be in effect; they may be lower because they ship within Canada, or they may be lower because the Well.ca team hasn’t noticed that Kitsch has raised their sales prices. They don’t have an arrival calendar, but they do have a few items included, including a heatless curl set for $24.99 CAD, select pillowcases starting at $25.79 CAD, and an Ice Facial Roller for $24.99 CAD. Act fast if you want to get any of these as gifts, or maybe a DIY advent calendar instead — ’tis the season.
