With the Nivea x Bridgerton collection, has Nivea made drugstore lip balm… sweet?
With the newly launched limited edition Nivea x Bridgerton Lip Balm collection, has Nivea made the drugstore stick to lip balm a little… sweet? Given the reputation of the Bridgerton Netflix’ series, a new alliance would not hurt. *Save*
I don’t currently subscribe to that streaming service, but at least I can tell you that season 4 of the Shonda Rhimes/Netflix adaptation of Julia Quinn. Bridgerton the book series has already begun. The first four episodes – part one – were released on January 29; the remaining four will drop on February 26. I’ve included Bridgerton season 4 trailers for part one and part two at the end of this post.
NIVEA BRIDGERTON LIP BALM PACKAGING
The Nivea x Bridgerton Lip Care collection consists of four balms, each with a stylish, embellished cap and packaging associated with one of Bridgerton’s four seasons to date.
Although this range is limited edition, each lip is an existing Nivea formula. Of these four, three are tinted; one of those is also shiny. Details in the section below.
NIVEA BRIDGERTON LIP BALM SPENTS & FINISHES
This collection was launched on January 29. Here are the details in reverse order of the seasons of the series.
Nivea Bridgerton Lip Balm in Vanilla Biscuit ($4.99 CAD via amazon.ca) ties into season 4 of Bridgerton, Benedict and Sophie’s story. Vanilla Biscuit is a tint-free blend of sunflower and castor oil, beeswax and sunflower seed wax, and shea butter. The formula also contains Vitamins C and E. According to Nivea, it’s a Vanilla Buttercream Lip Care formula (available in the US), dressed in a Regency-romance-inspired cap.
Nivea Bridgerton Lip Balm in Peach Tea ($4.90 CAD + via amazon.com*) nods to season 3 of Bridgerton, Colin and Penelope’s story. Unfortunately, the Peach Tea option does not they appear to be available in Canada outside of the US amazon.com website. Like the balm above, it is made with sunflower oil and castor seed oil and Vitamins C and E. There is no beeswax, but it has rapeseed oil, and a peach tint and flavor. It’s actually a Peach Lip Care formula already available in the US. (The regular Nivea Peach Shine lip balm is something on amazon.ca as well, but through a third-party seller for a whopping $15+ CAD.)
Nivea Bridgerton Lip Balm in Blackberry Pie ($4.99 CAD via amazon.ca) highlights Bridgerton season 2, about Anthony and Kate. The formula is similar to Peach Tea, only with a beautiful berry-inspired tint. According to Nivea, it is also known as Nivea Blackberry Lip Care which is available regularly in the US. (The Nivea Blackberry Shine is available on amazon.ca through a third-party seller and shipped by Amazon. But do you want to spend $10+ CAD to get one with a Nivea everyday cap?)
Nivea Bridgerton Lip Balm in Rose Meringue ($4.99 CAD via amazon.ca) celebrates the story of Daphne and Simon. Bridgerton’s first season was a hit when it debuted in December of 2020. In addition, its a separate casting meeting of the drama era. (Thanks Shonda Rhimes.) As for this Rose Meringue balm, it’s a subtle pink with a mica-pearl shimmer. Aside from the makeup, it’s the Nivea Pearly Shine or Pearly Pink Shimmer formula.
Of all these Nivea lip balm formulas and finishes, I actually have my hands on Blackberry Pie. That shade looks great. I love the peach flavor, too, but the fact that it’s not readily available in Canada seems deceiving. I’m curious about the Rose Meringue, although I prefer a more vivid pink. As for the vanilla biscuit, I’d rather have a real vanilla biscuit. True story: I can’t stand the smell of vanilla unless I’m on something to eat! 😂

I’m Asian, so I can’t help but love that Sophie Baek season 4 episode played by an Asian actress. I didn’t follow the Bridgerton gossip, so I wasn’t expecting this casting. Yerin Ha is Australian, of Korean descent; his parents are from South Korea.
