Although things have been a bit hectic lately on Hulu’s original series, “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” it’s safe to say that MomTok cast member Jessi Draper is thriving in the chaos. The longtime hairstylist and business star turned reality star has a lot on her plate. From a new movement in her hometown of Utah to a budding partnership with beauty brand Raw Sugar, Draper has been nothing if not busy and busy lately.<\/p>\n

As a professional hairdresser, a partnership with an affordable (yet high-end) brand like Raw Sugar felt completely natural. She’s a big fan of anything that keeps your hair in top condition without breaking the bank, and she told us all about her holy grail products. But it doesn’t end there. She also spilled the beans on the self-care routine she doesn’t skip, the K-beauty brand she can’t get enough of, and the best hacks she’s picked up from her fellow cast members. PS: Tell us more about your collaboration with Raw Sugar. What makes you happy the most?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jessi Draper: <\/strong>They just have so many different options. They just redid everything and the packaging is really good. Everything smells good. The biggest thing for me as a hairdresser is to make sure that it’s not just the hair you’re taking care of, but the skin you’re taking care of. That’s what I love about them – they really focus on skin health. Scalp Restore Shampoo ($11) and Conditioner ($11) are what I’ve been using a lot lately. I feel like that really helped my scalp and hair feel so much better.<\/p>\n

PS: What is something about skin health that people often overlook?<\/strong><\/p>\n

JD: <\/strong>Making a scalp [detoxing] A treatment once or twice a year is very important because there are so many possible formulations with the different products we use and the chemicals we use. Your scalp can get clogged easily. Brushing helps a lot too.<\/p>\n

PS: How would you say that your style of beauty has changed since you started this game? <\/strong><\/p>\n

JD: <\/strong>You watch yourself on TV and see what works and what doesn’t. Every season we all look a little different \u2014 maybe a little better \u2014 but I would say that I’ve changed the way I do my makeup on camera because the colors translate a little differently. Also, having a makeup artist now. I am addicted to having my makeup done professionally.<\/p>\n

PS: Are there any beauty hacks or tips you’ve picked up from other actors you work with?<\/strong><\/p>\n

JD: <\/strong>Miranda has the best eyelashes. I remember asking her once what mascara she uses. He gave me his whole process and I’ve been using all the same things, because it’s amazing. I use the GrandeLash Serum ($61, originally $68). It’s crazy that within two to three weeks, there is such a big difference.<\/p>\n

PS: Do you have any skincare or makeup staples that you’re into right now?<\/strong><\/p>\n

JD: <\/strong>I have been using Medicube a lot and it has been amazing. At first, I was nervous, because you don’t know [something is worth the hype when] everyone uses it. But I have almost all their products. Medicube has really changed my skin. Cleansing pads are really great and have a variety for different reasons. <\/p>\n

One [product] is the PDRN Pink Caffeine Night Wrapping Mask ($24, originally $27). Every time I use that, my skin is so smooth in the morning – I love that. If I have to do a big glam the next day, I always use that.<\/p>\n

For makeup, I’ve been using Charlotte Tilbury’s Kissing Satin Shine Lipsticks lately ($37) and just playing around with different colors. I’m wearing one called ’90s Pink right now, and I’ve been going through it a lot lately. <\/p>\n

PS: Can you share your hair care tips and extension hacks?<\/strong><\/p>\n

JD: <\/strong>I feel like extensions are a girl’s best friend \u2014 whether you need them or not. It’s not just about height. it’s about saturation. It’s all about keeping your hair in style, and extensions help do all that \u2014 [they] just kind of lifting things up. <\/p>\n

Using a good hair serum is my first tip for many people because many people suffer from dry hair – especially if you live in a cold climate. Using something to moisturize the middle to the end is very helpful.<\/p>\n

PS: When you have more stress in your life, what self-care routine do you turn to?<\/strong><\/p>\n

JD: <\/strong>Every night, I get in the bath and watch a show, drinking a glass of wine. I make Epsom salts, and then often use a bubble bath or bath bomb. I have one of those trays that I can set in the bathtub, so I have my iPad, my wine, or chocolate [on it]. <\/p>\n

PS: If you could give your younger self some advice, what would it be? <\/strong><\/p>\n

JD: <\/strong>It’s okay to make mistakes and you’re human, but learn from them. One of the things I’ve been trying to learn lately is to respond, don’t respond. Especially in reality TV, we have big emotions – we react. But, I was trying to think and respond instead of reacting emotionally. <\/p>\n

Know that you will make mistakes. It’s inevitable, but as long as you’re learning and growing, you’re fine.<\/p>\n

PS:<\/strong> Is there anything new you’re currently working on that you can share more about?<\/p>\n

JD: <\/strong>I’ve been so busy with TV and my businesses that there isn’t a ton of new stuff coming. But, hopefully, “The Secret Life of Mormon Wives” is back at it [soon] and you can see how our issues are resolved because two months ago it was still a little bit in our atmosphere. <\/p>\n
