The Sacramento Kings could see the return of their All-Star power forward Jan. 16 in their Friday night game against the Washington Wizards.<\/p>\n

Kings forward Domantas Sabonis was listed as questionable on the NBA’s Injury Report, but the team expects him to suit up and play against the Wizards, according to ESPN.<\/p>\n

Sabonis, a three-time All-Star, has missed the past 27 games for the Kings with a torn meniscus.<\/p>\n

He has only appeared in 11 games so far this season, averaging 17.2 points and 12.3 rebounds.<\/p>\n

In recent days, Sabonis has been seen taking part in shooting during practice. Signs point to him being back on the court with the Kings soon. And in good time, too.<\/p>\n

Sabonis trade market, contract status<\/h2>\n

Sabonis, in his 10th NBA season and fifth year in Sacramento, could be on the trade market.<\/p>\n

According to ESPN, Kings general manager Scott Perry is “open to negotiating trades for all of their veterans on high-end deals” as the team transitions to a rebuild.<\/p>\n

Sabonis’ remaining contract is for three years and $136.3 million.<\/p>\n

He signed a four-year, $186 million contract with Sacramento as part of a renegotiation and extension on July 6, 2023.<\/p>\n
