Ryan points out that being a former franchise quarterback has given him a unique experience interacting with the head coach and front office, which should serve him well. <\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;When you are a team player for a long time, your interaction with the head coach and the meetings you sit in their office and talk about all the different things that are going on with the football team and the decisions that need to be made or changes in the program or the season maybe to change the way, it is different from other players,&#8221;<\/em> Ryan said about PFT. <em>&#8220;I feel like I&#8217;m very familiar with those conversations. I feel like I&#8217;ve done it with a couple of different guys that I have a lot of respect for and I&#8217;ve seen it in a lot of different ways. I think the same thing can happen on the front office side. The longer I&#8217;ve been here, there were a lot of conversations. It wasn&#8217;t, &#8216;I was going to be a part of the decision,&#8217; but I was asked those things, so I was asked those things. I&#8217;m going to let you know what I&#8217;m doing now. I have a lot to gain \u2014 there&#8217;s no doubt about that, I&#8217;ve talked to a lot of people from around the league, who have stepped up as players and I can listen to the noise in the background and not panic and carry on &#8230; I will lean on those I feel like I have strong relationships inside and outside the building that will help me in this role.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Parks OT <strong>Zach Tom<\/strong> he will undergo surgery soon in the hope that he will be able to return to training next season.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;It was probably one of the hardest decisions I had to make in my life. Obviously you want to be in the play-offs because that&#8217;s when everything is at stake,&#8221;<\/em> Tom said, via Matt Schneidman of The Athletic. <em>&#8220;I don&#8217;t think I was in a position to go out and help the team &#8230; I just want to get it out of the way, finish and move on.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Panthers RB <strong>Jonathan Brooks<\/strong> is recovering from his second torn ACL after appearing in just three games this season. Carolina GM <strong>Dan Morgan<\/strong> It&#8217;s nice to see Brooks retooling in the club&#8217;s place and feeling himself<em> &#8220;it looks good.&#8221; <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;First of all, I see Jonathon walking around the facility every day, the way he attacks his living room, the way he attacks the weight room, walking around the building with a smile\u2014he&#8217;s been through a lot and he&#8217;s overcome it,&#8221;<\/em> Morgan said, via PanthersWire. &#8220;<em>He looks good, runs really well. I saw him running the trails over there the other day, he looked great. So, yes, you are doing very well. I am proud of him and the way he has attacked this rehabilitation process. It&#8217;s not easy. You made a big deal out of it. We will see where you are. And, we&#8217;ll take it week by week, month by month. But he is headed in the right direction.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>As for being immersed in practice with a second-year WR <strong>Xavier Legette<\/strong> and CB <strong>Trevin Wallace<\/strong>Morgan said he still trusts both players and wants to be patient with them. <\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;I feel good about them,&#8221;<\/em> Morgan said. <em>&#8220;I think we&#8217;re all quick to judge these guys. Maybe they&#8217;re not developing as fast as the outside wants, but I think you&#8217;ve got to be patient with these guys. I think you&#8217;ve got to let them develop, I think you&#8217;ve got to let them grow. I think Trevin&#8217;s 22 years old.
