Manchester City vs Wolves: City’s latest injury news and predicted City starting eleven

Manchester City will face Wolverhampton Wanderers today at the Etihad Stadium. Pep Guardiola’s side go into today’s match after two painful defeats against Manchester United and Bodø/Glimt. The manner of these two defeats has been concerning. It is hoped that City can put those two defeats behind them and return to the top today. City will face Wolves who are bottom of the Premier League. However, they are unbeaten in their last four Premier League games, and Rob Edwards’ side will not be playing today.

Here are the latest Manchester City injury news and City’s predicted starting eleven ahead of today’s game.

The latest Manchester City injury news.

Manchester City go into today’s match with a number of unavailable players. John Stones, Ruben Dias, Josko Gvardiol, Mateo Kovacic, Nico, Savinho and Oscar Bobb are all absent from today’s game. Pep Guardiola told the media yesterday that it is unlikely that Matheus Nunes will play today because of the virus. Guardiola also shared that Savinho should be back in two to three weeks and that Nico could return for Manchester City’s next Champions League game against Galatasaray.

In good news for Manchester City, Bernardo Silva and Antoine Semenyo are likely to return to the starting line-up today. Bernardo Silva was suspended for Manchester City’s defeat to Bodø/Glimt. Antoine Semenyo was ineligible to play in Norway. There should also be a Manchester City debut for Marc Guehi, who City signed from Crystal Palace earlier in the week. Guehi should add incredible experience and quality to a City defense that has struggled in their last two games.

The predicted city starts at eleven.

Gianluigi Donnarumma: Donnarumma should start in goal in today’s game.

Rayan Ait-Nouri: With Matheus Nunes out, I don’t see Rico Lewis starting at right back. I believe Ait-Nouri will start there after showing signs of quality against Bodø/Glimt at right back.

Abdukodir Khusanov: I don’t see Max Alleyne starting so I expect Abdukodir Khusanov to keep his place at center back.

Marc Guehi: The England international is certain to make his City debut today. He will have an important role to play in City’s defense with his leadership, defensive ability and footballing ability.

Nico O’Reilly: I have a feeling that O’Reilly will resume his career at left back.

Rodri: I don’t see Rodri not starting today and hopefully he can do well for his confidence and Pep Guardiola’s team.

Bernardo Silva: Manchester City missed the presence of Bernardo Silva against Bodø/Glimt. I expect the City captain to return to the starting line-up today.

Ryan Cherki: Cherki was Manchester City’s best player in Norway. I think he deserves to start today’s game and he might be his team that needs a break.

Antoine Semenyo: Semenyo should start on the right side and could be a key player in Pep Guardiola’s side.

Jeremy Doku: Doku missed the defeat to Manchester City at Aspmyra Stadion. As long as he is fit he should slot in on the left wing.

Erling Haaland: My first thoughts were that Omar Marmoush would start in place of Haaland. Then I remembered Haaland’s great goal scoring record against Wolves. Today could be the day for Haaland to come into form so I expect him to start up front.
