TGL women’s golf league: Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson, Lydia Ko among LPGA Tour players committing for season opener | Golf News

England’s Charley Hull and World No 1 Jeeno Thitikul are among the first wave of LPGA Tour players who have committed to compete in the inaugural women’s TGL league season.
The Tomorrow Golf League (TGL) was founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s TMRW Sports, as a technically-incorporated golf competition that sees players compete in teams on an indoor purpose-built course.
The men’s version was launched in partnership with the PGA Tour and enjoyed its first season in 2025, with the women’s edition (WGTL) preparing to launch in the winter of 2026-27.
Hull and Thitikul were both among the first five names on the LPGA Tour confirmed to start the event, played at the Sofi Center in Palm Beach Gardens in Florida, with Lydia Ko, Brooke Henderson and former Solheim Cup star Lexi Thompson set to take part.
Mike McCarley, founder and CEO of TMRW Sports, said: “WTGL will be the global platform to showcase the stars of the LPGA Tour, and this first wave of dedicated players represents that opportunity with the best in the world.
“These players will thrive in the competitive environment of WTGL as fans will see their talents and connect more deeply with their personalities through the unprecedented access the league brings, with every player identified in the modern style of team play.”
Thitikul overtook Nelly Korda as world No. 1 after a campaign that saw him win the 2025 Rolex Player of the Year award on the LPGA Tour, including the season-ending CME Group Tour tournament.
Hull and Thompson both enjoyed previous team success at Solheim Cups, while Ko and Henderson join WTGL having both won multiple majors in their successful careers.
WTGL will feature the same core components used in TGL, including mic’d up players, risk-rewarding team decisions and many different formats, and a season of fast-paced matchmaking.
LPGA Tour commissioner Craig Kessler said earlier this month: “Partnering with TMRW Sports on WTGL demonstrates our belief that innovation can help the game reach new fans and create greater visibility for LPGA athletes.
“I’ve seen how new formats can engage audiences while showcasing an athlete’s personality and performance, and WTGL brings that spirit of innovation to the women’s game.
“It creates another world class for our athletes – helping fans connect with them on a deeper level and continue to raise the visibility and growth of women’s golf.”
More details about WTGL will be announced in the coming months, including additional signings and team names for its inaugural season.
