Buffalo Bills vs Denver Broncos: Bo Nix’s limitations give Josh Allen another shot at NFL playoffs, says Phoebe Schecter | NFL news

Denver Broncos linebacker Bo Nix still needs to be fooled like a “chained dog” giving Josh Allen hope of extending the Buffalo Bills’ championship, according to Phoebe Schecter.

The top-seeded Broncos will host the Bills on Saturday, live on Sky Sports at 9pmin the AFC divisional round.

Many things seem to favor the Broncos, who are playing at home after a bye week against a Bills team that won 27-24 against the Jacksonville Jaguars last weekend.

The only area where the Bills have a clear advantage is at quarterback, with 2024 MVP Allen a more complete option than Nix, who still needs to be carefully managed by Broncos head coach Sean Payton in his second season in the NFL.

Speaking on the latest episode of Sky Sports’ Inside The Huddle podcast, former Bills assistant coach Schecter explained why he thinks the away team can win.

“This is going to be a big test,” Schecter said. “Going into Denver, we’ve seen what’s been done to teams in the past. It’s loud, it’s at a high level, it’s just going to be a hostile environment.

“But there are a few teams in the playoffs right now that have a defense and a quarterback that probably won’t keep them alive.

“Bo Nix has really improved as the season has gone on but it feels like he’s a dog on a leash in a sense, in terms of being limited in what he can do, being tricked in certain ways to throw certain looks.

“And that’s part of the game. Obviously, as a coordinator, as a quarterback, there’s certain things you want, but I think it feels a lot more intense because some of the perceived inefficiencies, some of the plays being called, the ejections — you’re probably finding ways to protect him more than you’d like to see from a quarterback a couple years ago.”
