“Maybe we can hurt them a little bit” – David Raum on Bayern’s challenge and featuring Olise

LEIPZIG (Bulinews): David Raum knows it will be easy, but he and RB Leipzig will be aiming to hand Bayern Munich their first Bundesliga defeat of the season when they welcome the league leaders to the Red Bull Arena on Saturday.
“It will be a tough game. In my opinion, Bayern are one of the best players – and perhaps the best – team in the world right now,” said Raum in a press conference when asked by Bulinews.com to express his expectations for the match.

The back-to-back saw Leipzig go down 6-0 earlier in the season, but Raum believes Die Roten Bullen have a much stronger foundation now, with head coach Ole Werner and the club’s summer signings more settled.
“They killed us at the beginning of the season, but this will be a completely different game because we have new players and they play in a different way compared to the beginning of the season,” said the Leipzig captain.
“The coach has a better feeling about us and the way we play, and we have a better feeling about what he wants from us. Playing at home with our fans, maybe we can hurt them a little bit. To be honest, it’s not easy to score against them at the moment, but let’s see what can happen.”
Olise said
Operating on the left side of defence, Raum will face the challenge of containing Bayern’s Michael Olise, who already has 19 goals (nine goals, 10 assists) in just 17 Bundesliga games this season.

“There is no key to stop him. Yes, he will have his moments. I will try to stop his left foot. But whatever I say, it is not easy to stop a player like him. He runs amazingly. I am looking forward to playing against him because I like to play with the best wing players in the world, and he is absolutely one of them at the moment. I will be the first player to be the best player. A few fights will hurt a little,” said Raum.
“I will just try to react to him because he is a really smart player. If I make the first move, he will react, and he has fast feet. So I will wait for him to make the first move. Then I will bring my body, my body. He is not a very physical player, but very talented, so I need to fight him, and I can stop my support from my center. together.”
Sometimes offense is the best defense. With players like Yan Diomande and Antonio Nusa, Leipzig also have the potential to hurt Bayern.
“They have many players that are not easy to stop, but we also have these players. I am preparing to have the ball when we face Bayern because if we play, they will have to defend,” said Raum.

He didn’t claim the title
With RB Leipzig in third place and 15 points behind Bayern Munich with a game in hand going into the game, Raum admits that he does not see his team as real contenders for the title.
“To be honest, no. I think Bayern will be champions, but that is not our main goal. We want to play in the Champions League next year, and at the moment it seems very good. We have one game in hand, so if we win this, it seems very good, very good,” said Raum, adding:
“We played well in the first part of the season. If we continue, I think we will achieve our goal, and everything else is a dream, especially after last season. But maybe we can talk about the cup. That is true.”
Bulinews.com will be present at Saturday’s top match at the Red Bull Arena starting at 18:30 CET.
